The twenty (20) woodcuts that comprise The Ruth Portfolio were created to accompany a new translation of the biblical Book of Ruth. The woodcuts, along with a translation and notes by biblical scholar Ellen F. Davis, are published in Who Are You, My Daughter? Reading Ruth Through Image and Text (Westminster John Knox Press, 2003).
Created from blocks carved between 2000 and 2002, the woodcuts are handprinted in Charbonnel etching ink on Sekishu natural paper in an edition of 50. Each image measures 8 x 6 inches. The prints are available either individually or as a complete set of twenty, encased in a black archival portfolio.
